I'm a Midwestern Lutheran with a love for the wider world. After college in Minnesota I worked in New York City – first for Lutheran World Relief and then for a soup kitchen and food pantry based out of a Lutheran church on the Lower East Side. My husband and I met and married at that church and a few years later moved to Tanzania, where for four years we served as teaching missionaries at a Lutheran elementary boarding school. While there we had two children of our own. After returning to the U.S. I received my Masters of Divinity from the University of Chicago. My first call was in Homewood, IL, where I served as associate pastor with an emphasis on Children and Family Ministry. While there I began working on a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Preaching from Luther Seminary, which I completed in my current call as solo pastor of Irving Park Lutheran Church. I’ve been at IPLC since 2013 and treasure its mix of tradition and change. I love cooking, comedy, reading, running, playing the piano and singing.
