Paige L. Stephan is a board certified staff chaplain at Rush University Medical Center. After serving for seven years with the high risk Women’s and Children’s units, Paige currently serves as staff chaplain for the Palliative Care team and the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Paige is an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and was a member of Chicago Presbytery’s Commission on Preparation for Ministry for nearly 6 years. Much of that time, she served as the commission’s moderator. She is currently the Moderator-Elect of Chicago Presbytery and will be the Moderator in 2019. Paige was a Boilermaker for four years before she became a Young Adult Volunteer serving in the East African office of Church World Service in Kenya. It was during this year that she discovered her abiding love of stories and came to cherish the work of receiving and holding them in shared sacred space. Paige returned to the Midwest and received her Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary where her doctoral thesis focused on resilience in a healthcare setting.
