Public Witnesses for Social Justice
Jason is active in a number of social justice organizations in Chicago, including the Community Renewal Society and Arise Chicago. He has led a number of public witnesses. On Election Day 2016, he served communion to voters outside of the church to bring people together after a tense and polarized election season. In 2017, he led a protest at Moody Bible Institute in opposition to the Nashville Statement, along with many Chicago-area clergy. In 2011, he was part of a group of clergy who offered sanctuary to Wisconsin state senators who walked out of a legislative session to block Governor Walker's attempt to roll back workers' rights to organize.
